“Leave it up to me while I be living proof
To kick the truth to the young black youth
But shorty’s running wild smokin sess drinkin beer
And ain’t trying to hear what I’m kickin in his ear
Neglected, but now, but yo, it gots to be accepted
That what? That life is hectic”
Good interview. 1st time I meet Lupe I was in Baseline studios with Jay-Z, Pharrell, Hip Hop, Mick, Guru (Supre Enginerer) & a couple other cats. While Jay was recording the Black album. We must of talked about music till 5am. At the end of the night. We said our good bye’s and he said his name. I was like oh shit. Did not recognize him with his glasses. All his promo shot where with out it. Back then Dj Gee hi used to blast this one record from the studio in Artista’s office.

I’m apart of the factory. I started off at Roc-A-Fella Records in ‘98. Don’t count Dame out!
It’s roughly 2 P.M. on a blistery New York City winter day, but the chill doesn’t seem to faze Damon Dash, who rolls up to his gallery, DD172, on a cruiser bicycle. Dash dismounts, carries his metropolitan vehicle through the iron gates and tilts it against a floor-to-ceiling window, removing his black fur ushanka and hanging his gray wool coat in silence before making his way through the cavernous first floor art space and climbing a suspended staircase to his office.
