Embracing the concept of minimalism in urban living, Chalayan infuses each sneaker with understated functionality. Africa Unite! I had the pleasure of meeting both Kehinde Wiley & David LaChapelle in Miami for Art Basel ‘09. We ended partying and drinking.

Artist Kehinde Wiley and PUMA helped commemorate the Africa Cup of Nations 2010 through a series of art works and products culminating with the PUMA Africa Unity Kit. In a video capturing the background of the project, the American artist took a trip to Africa to gather inspiration and converse with some of Africa’s biggest footballing superstars, Samuel Eto’o, Emmanuel Eboué and John Mensah. A compelling aspect of the journey includes a look into the methods that traditional African patterns are created as well as strong aspects of Africa’s landscape such as music. The final for the Africa Cup of Nations 2010 will conclude on January 31st, 2010 featuring Ghana and Egypt.

I’m chillen!

Puma was once again digging around in their archives and will from August 2009 be releasing classic colorways of the Puma Suede. Each month Puma will be releasing 3 original colorways of the Suede, all featuring butter soft suede uppers and of course fat laces. The collection will be coming to Wellgosh and other premium Puma retailers.

The front ruined it for me. It’s like seeing a girl with a fatty from the back then she turns around…

For Puma, their relationship with high-fashion brands has featured a number of high-profile names in the past including Sergio Rossi and Alexander McQueen. Aided by their relationship under the Gucci Group, the aforementioned brands are now joined by another lauded brand in Yves Saint Laurent as the duo combine high-fashion and sneakers. The high-top design features a moc-style toebox with a wave-like sole. Two styles are seen here which will be available at YSL boutiques across the world except for the US, where it will only be available via its online shop.

Every time I come up with “something” and I’m like yeah that shit is cold! I’ll see something better. this is one of these moments. Puma socks are the best socks hands down! If you got something better let me know.

one of my favorite kicks of all time. this version is not bad at all.

The classic Puma Suede comes this season in a new yellow colorway with a mesh logo stripe, giving the sneaker an interesting look. Even though the mesh comes tonal it is still an accent on the upper, making the sneaker more athletic.
