I’m into the Square box look.
Australian based sunglass label Graz, headed by Graz Mulcahy, might be one of the best kept secrets in eyewear, at least here in the states. Make no mistake about it though, Graz is not new to designing sunglasses, and for many who might not be familiar with the name know of his works. At just the age of 19 he launched AM eyewear before moving on to design for Ksubi and then onto his own self entitled line Graz. Some might also recognize the name, as having designed sunglasses and collaborated with the label Chronicles of Never for both the 2009/10 line.
Now Graz sunglasses collaborates with Aussie art based magazine Monster Children for these limited edition sunnies simply called “Obstacle”. These aggressive unisex sunglasses are a juxtaposition of futuristic and old school classic style. They have straight lines and sharp edges and feature a keyhole bridge. They are all hand made of beautiful quality acetate. Get them here.

This season, nonconformist Martin Margiela offers an outlandish take on a Ray-Ban Shooter style sunglass frame. All I can think of is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas meets welding mask. colette says it’s a piece “just like his creator; atypical, playful, unique!” If those words describe you, and you think you can pull this off, they’re now available in two colors at colette.

Paul Smith launch their first sunglasses collection with Oakley for Spring/Summer 2009. The result is fresh and fun capsule collection of Frogskin frames in four striking colourways. With a distinct matt rubberised finish, the Oakley Frogskins were first released in 1986 and became a symbol of that decade’s surf and skate culture. The Paul Smith frames reflect their retro origins with their high-voltage colour – pink, purple, blue and an original camo design. The sunglasses are finished with gradient mirrored lenses. Only 500 pairs will be available and limited exclusively to be sold in Paul Smith shops.
